Performance and achievements

Here you will find information about Ashmore State School student performances and achievements.

Our Link It! whole school intervention program was conducted daily through skilled staff to enhance student literacy and numeracy outcomes. The Link It! strategy coupled with expert teaching practice once again resulted in Ashmore State School being recognised  as one of the highest performing schools in QLD and indeed Australia. Such recognition was evidenced by the Principal, Margi James, l being invited to participate in the Australia Parliamentary Review of Education in Australia for 2018.

Ashmore State School offered Academic Excellence opportunities and Sports Excellence programs in partnership with surrounding secondary schools and Griffith University. Participation in the University of NSW International Competition and Assessment (ICAS) results in significantly high numbers of students obtaining Distinction level in the subjects tested, with some students being awarded the ICAS Medal for top performance in QLD and Australia.

Our Gifted and Talented program provides opportunities for students to further enhance their talents in the Performing Arts, Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). Students enter the STEM Challenge Cup and are recognised as the highest performing state primary school.

Our school enjoys a fine reputation for the Performing Arts program. Our Junior and Senior choirs perform at a high standard in the Gold Coast Eisteddfod as do students involved in the instrumental and strings programs.
Students engaged in Sport regularly represent the school at Regional and State level.
