Road Safety

At school we’ve been reminding all children about the safest way to cross the road before and after school e.g. waiting to cross at the lights, or with the assistance of the crossing supervisors. We’ve been stressing that they should not run across the road when the lights and crossing supervisors are nearby.

Could you please assist us by reminding your sons and daughters about safe ways to cross the road; and by role modelling what they should do whenever possible.

Thank you for helping us to ensure the well-being and safety of our children.

Keeping Our School Safe

Our administration team is always focussed on ensuring our children are kept safe. Over a period of time the number of cars entering through our gates at the end of the school day has increased, thus putting at risk the safety of children and their parents who follow our school’s policy of walking to and from the front gates.

Therefore each afternoon the gates are now locked at 2.50p.m. They are unlocked at 3.15 p.m after the majority of children and their parents have left the school grounds.

Some Important Safety Messages

For the safety of all students and their families please be aware of the following:

Please only enter and exit the school grounds via the front gate near the Year 1 Block (C Block) or the back gate. Do not use the staff car park entry at any time, as this is extremely dangerous with not only staff cars entering but also delivery trucks and builders’ vehicles.

Please do not enter the office via the door off the cul-de-sac (near the Tuckshop) for the same reason. Please use the door on the Library side. Please do not walk through the cul-de-sac due to the number of larger vehicles that need to drive into this small area.

Thank you for assisting us in this way as you and your child’s safety are important to us.

Drop off zones

Parents are encouraged to utilise the drop and go zone located on Currumburra Road. This zone is clearly marked to reduce traffic congestion at commencement and conclusion of the school day. If parents require longer parking time they must legally use the visitors parking spaces on the slip road at the front of the school, alternatively students can be dropped at Warrawee Crescent at the schools back gate.
