Acknowledgement of Country

At Ashmore State School we acknowledge the Kombumerri people who are the Traditional Custodians of the Land that we are situated on. We pay our respects to all Elders past, present and emerging as they hold the memories, traditions, culture and hopes of our First Nations peoples.

Reconciliation Action Plan

In October 2024, Ashmore State School completed our first Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) under the guidance of Reconciliation Australia through the Narragunnawali platform. A Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) is a formal commitment to reconciliation. It outlines how our school will strengthen relationships, respect and opportunities in the classroom, around our school and with our wider community.

The Ashmore State School RAP was completed by a Working Group comprising of Ashmore State School staff, parents and members of the community.

We invite you to view the Ashmore State School Reconciliation Action Plan here.

More details regarding RAP's for schools in Australia can be located here: https://www.narragunnawali.org.au/
