Our school in the community

Dragon Boat Corporate Day

Ashmore State School once again participated in the Currumbin Dragon Boat Club’s Corporate Day.

This is the 2nd year Ashmore has competed and coming 4th last year gave the team something to aspire to.

The team was made up of teachers, teacher aides, P & C members, students, parents and the wider community.

The day was glorious, the water calm and the team strong. We made the finals and raced against Arundel State School, Pacific Pines State School and Marymount College.

Ashmore came a credible 3rd and vowed to defend their title and hopefully improve next year.

A great day was had by all. Keep an eye out in the foyer of the school office for a display of the trophy and the team uniform, which was made possible through the generosity of a number of sponsors.

Very Special thank you to our sponsors – major sponsors Create Security and Razor LEDS as well as XBC Business Centre.

We look forward to continuing this annual event and with it becoming a new Ashmore State School tradition.

Ashmore Community Garden

The community garden is a joint project between Gold Coast Community Gardens Incorporated and Ashmore State School. We at Ashmore State School are proud to be a part of this initiative supported by Councillor Bob La Castra and the Gold City Council.

Ashmore Community Garden Update

On Sunday the 18th of August we installed the newest part of the Ashmore community garden. Members of Gold Coast Permaculture, Ashmore School and Ashmore community garden had a great day in the garden creating 2 new “bio intensive” beds. We also installed a number of citrus trees around the oval and near the back gate of the school.

We will be in the garden every week on Tuesday morning from 8am working with the kids from "Helping Hands". Parents and kids are welcome to join us too. Pop down and say hi to Judy and Vanessa.

Ashmore community garden has its next meeting on 5th of September in the conference room of the Carmichael centre at 7pm. Come to find out more, on how to be involved with the community gardens, helping out and harvesting your own fresh and organic produce.

Good morning,

I regret to advise we are moving back to New Zealand.

The last day will be Friday 29th July, words can't explain your quality of education and support, this decision has not come lightly.

My heart is broken and I thank you all for the last 5 years of our life and supporting us by coming from Earthquakes but as they say home is where the heart is!

I love how Arnika is part of your advertising from prep it's something I'll always cherish.

You have genuinely taught our family a lot, dedication being one with Arnika and her cello, even tho she wanted to quit I taught her about commitment and follow thru!

I love how Tristin is now on the board as sports captain as that's making him proud like his uncle Michael Gibson as head boy in 2003!

Thank you all for everything and your wonderful education it's going to be greatly missed!

Thank you all! Xx

Thank you so much to wonderful Ashmore Primary. It's our last year here and we are so sad to leave. You have all been so wonderful and it is truly remarkable and a credit to Ashmore Primary that you have drawn such positive, brilliant teaching staff to your school - we will miss you very, very much as we journey on into the world of high school and can only hope that his experiences are as positive as they have been at this fine school.
