Body, Brains & Confidence
At Ashmore State School we have some exciting programmes that bring our community together. As part of this enterprise we have in place our 'Body, Brains & Confidence' (BBC) fitness activities and healthy breakfast. Students (at this stage around 65 to 80 on a regular basis) start their Friday with an exercise circuit then partake in a hearty breakfast, all before school which starts at around nine.

The fitness component of our programme involves students in circuit training and is run voluntarily by teachers who are assisted by enthusiastic parents and carers. The circuits take place on the netball courts and are run in two sections, junior and senior. Both groups spend 20 to 25 minutes following a circuit of physical activities that are designed to keep then 'huffing and puffing'. The seniors (years 4 to 7) start at 7.45 am and the juniors (years 1 to 3) start at 8.00 am.
After their respective circuits they go to the school hall for a healthy breakfast which is provided by the school P&C who are ably assisted by a volunteer group of teachers and parents.
